The Upstate Soccer Alliance Select Program was created to serve the needs of the more committed soccer player. Select soccer (also known as Classic Soccer) is the highest level of competitive soccer in South Carolina and is currently offered to the U11 through U18 age groups. The Upstate Soccer Alliance Classic Program teams are chosen through the club's tryouts and play either in the President's Medal Soccer League (PMSL) or South Carolina State Challenge League (SCSCL). These teams practice 2-3 times a week and attend a minimum of two tournaments per season. Classic teams in the U15 and higher age groups play only a fall season which begins in early August and may conclude in mid-late November if the team qualifies for a state tournament. Participation in the younger aged teams is expected for both the fall and spring seasons with the spring season beginning in January and concluding at the end of April. When players reach the classic level, they are expected to commit the time and effort necessary to bring about self-improvement and to contribute to the goals of their team.
